The Rudy Marine Story ... Back in 1986, Delaware-based Rudy Marine started out as a simple classified ad where Tom Rudy offered door-to-door boat repair. Armed with tools and a ton of knowledge, he would take home parts and would often be found working on a gear case or lower unit right on his kitchen table. The business boomed and in February of 1987, he purchased property where the current Wilmington location is now. "There was a house and a small shop in the back where we worked and eventually sold bait and tackle, " Tom said. Business continued to grow, so Tom expanded, buying the houses next door to his in 1996. In 1998, the store opened and his first line of products was Evinrude outboard engines. "I bought ten motors that first year and sold them all, " he stated. In 1993, he started carrying his first line of boats called Dolphin and added the incredibly popular Sea Nymph line of aluminum boats in 1994. The boats lines grew as Tom expanded to include Angler, Palm Beach and the shop's premier line called Osprey. In 1998, he aligned with Yamaha outboards and has "become one of the largest, if not the largest dealer on the east coast. " Other lines that they now feature include War Eagle, May- Craft, Century, Sea Fox and NauticStar. There was a demand to branch out and this year, Tom and the Staff at Rudy Marine have opened up a brand new facility along Route 24 by the Love Creek Bridge in Lewes, hosting a largely successful open house over the Fourth of July Weekend. Tom Rudy and the folks at Rudy Marine continue to thrive and are expanding during a time when most are scaling back. --- By Chris Lido

From Maryland:
Take 95 North to the Newport Exit (141 North). Stay in the Right hand lane. Take the Newport Exit again (Exit 4). At the bottom of the exit ramp make a right onto Rt. 4 East. We are 1 mile up on the left.

From Central or Western Pennsylvania:
Take 41 East to Route 141 South. Take the Newport Exit. Take a left onto Route 4 East. We are 1 mile up on the left.

From Lower Delaware & MD Shore Points:
Take Rt. 1 North to I-95 North. Take I-95 North to Rt. 141 North (Exit 5-B Newport). Take Rt. 141 to Exit 4 Newport. At bottom of exit ramp make a right onto Rt. 4 East. continue East on Rt. 4 for 1 mile. Rudy Marine is on the left.
